Ridgeline Workshop respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.

This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the Ridgeline Workshop mobile application and website, why that information is collected, how it is used, and the choices available to you.

  1. Information we collect

When you create and use a Ridgeline Workshop account, we may collect information that you provide directly, including your email address and account information.

We also store information that you choose to enter into the app, such as:

Bikes and bike details
Bike photographs that you upload
Components fitted to your bikes
Component installation and replacement dates
Component usage information
Maintenance and service records
Notes and other information that you choose to enter

This information is used to provide the maintenance-tracking features of Ridgeline Workshop.

  1. Strava integration

Ridgeline Workshop allows you to connect your account to Strava.

If you choose to connect Strava, Ridgeline Workshop may access information authorised by you through the Strava API, including relevant activity, bicycle/gear and usage information.

This information is used to associate cycling activities with bikes in Ridgeline Workshop and calculate information such as distance, elevation and usage time for bikes and components.

Connecting Strava is optional.

Ridgeline Workshop does not use Strava data for advertising or sell Strava data to third parties.

Your use of Strava remains subject to Strava’s own terms and privacy policies. You may disconnect Ridgeline Workshop from Strava in accordance with the account and connection options made available by Strava and Ridgeline Workshop.

  1. How we use your information

Information collected through Ridgeline Workshop may be used to:

Create and manage your account
Provide the bike and component maintenance features of the app
Maintain your bike service and component history
Synchronise authorised cycling information from Strava
Calculate bike and component usage
Maintain and improve the reliability, security and functionality of Ridgeline Workshop
Provide customer support
Manage subscriptions and access to paid features
Comply with legal and regulatory obligations

We do not sell your personal information.

  1. Firebase and Google services

Ridgeline Workshop uses Google Firebase and related Google Cloud services to provide parts of the application’s infrastructure.

These services may be used for functions including authentication, database storage, file storage and backend processing.

Information required to operate Ridgeline Workshop may therefore be processed and stored using Google infrastructure.

Google processes information according to its own applicable privacy and security policies.

  1. Photographs and device access

Ridgeline Workshop may allow you to take a photograph or select an existing photograph from your device for use as a bike image.

The app will only request access to relevant device features where required to provide functionality that you choose to use.

Images that you choose to upload may be stored using Ridgeline Workshop’s cloud infrastructure so that they remain associated with your account and bikes.

  1. Subscriptions and payments

Ridgeline Workshop may offer paid subscriptions or other paid features.

Payments made through the mobile application may be processed by the relevant app-store or payment provider. Ridgeline Workshop does not receive or store your complete payment-card details when payments are processed by those providers.

Payment providers may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies.

  1. Sharing of information

We do not sell or rent your personal information.

Information may be processed by service providers where necessary to operate Ridgeline Workshop, such as hosting, authentication, cloud infrastructure, app distribution and payment services.

Information may also be disclosed where required by law, regulation, legal process or a valid request from an appropriate authority.

  1. Data retention

We retain information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Ridgeline Workshop and maintain your account, unless a longer retention period is required for legal, security or legitimate business purposes.

Some information may be retained temporarily in backups or system logs after deletion where necessary for security, recovery or technical operation.

  1. Account and data deletion

You may request deletion of your Ridgeline Workshop account and associated personal information.

Where account deletion is available directly within the application, you may use that feature. You may also contact Ridgeline Workshop using the contact information below.

Following a valid deletion request, personal information associated with your account will be deleted or anonymised where appropriate, except where information must be retained to comply with legal obligations or for legitimate security, fraud-prevention or record-keeping purposes.

Information held independently by third-party services such as Strava or an app-store provider is governed by your relationship with that provider and may need to be managed separately.

  1. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss.

However, no internet-connected service or method of electronic storage can guarantee absolute security.

  1. Children’s privacy

Ridgeline Workshop is intended for a general cycling audience and is not specifically designed for children.

We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children where parental consent would be legally required.

If we become aware that personal information has been collected in circumstances requiring parental consent without that consent, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

  1. Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including rights to request access, correction or deletion of information and, in certain circumstances, to object to or restrict processing.

UK users may have rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.

Some service providers used by Ridgeline Workshop may process information outside your country of residence.

Where required, appropriate safeguards will be used for international transfers of personal information.
