Privacy Policy — Ridgeline Workshop
Last updated: 26 September 2026
Ridgeline Workshop respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information.
This Privacy Policy explains what information is collected when you use the Ridgeline Workshop mobile application and website, why that information is collected, how it is used, how long it may be retained, and the choices available to you.
1. Information we collect
When you create and use a Ridgeline Workshop account, we may collect information that you provide directly, including your email address and account information.
We also store information that you choose to enter into the app, such as:
- Bikes and bike details
- Bike photographs that you upload
- Components fitted to your bikes
- Component installation and replacement dates
- Component usage information
- Maintenance and service records
- Notes and other information that you choose to enter
This information is used to provide the maintenance-tracking features of Ridgeline Workshop.
2. Strava integration
Ridgeline Workshop allows you to optionally connect your account to Strava.
If you choose to connect Strava, Ridgeline Workshop may access information that you have authorised through the Strava API, including cycling activity information and bicycle/gear information associated with your Strava account.
Ridgeline Workshop uses this information to associate your cycling activities with bikes that you have added to Ridgeline Workshop and to update bike and component usage, including distance, elevation and usage time.
Strava data is used only to provide functionality to the authenticated Ridgeline Workshop user whose Strava account supplied that data. Ridgeline Workshop does not provide other users with access to your Strava data.
Individual Strava activity records used to process bike and component usage are retained only temporarily and are configured for deletion from Ridgeline Workshop’s processing database. Ridgeline Workshop does not maintain a permanent archive of your individual Strava activities for this purpose.
Usage information resulting from processing your authorised cycling activities, such as accumulated bike and component distance, elevation and usage time, may be retained within your Ridgeline Workshop account where necessary to provide the maintenance-tracking functionality you requested.
Ridgeline Workshop does not sell Strava data, use Strava data for advertising, create leaderboards or social comparisons from Strava data, or use Strava data to train artificial intelligence or machine-learning models.
Connecting Strava is optional and requires your authorisation. You may withdraw that authorisation by disconnecting Strava from within Ridgeline Workshop or through the controls provided by Strava.
When you disconnect Strava from Ridgeline Workshop, Ridgeline Workshop will revoke the connection and delete Strava data retained for that connection in accordance with applicable Strava requirements, subject to any retention required by law.
Your use of Strava remains subject to Strava’s own terms and privacy policies.
3. How we use your information
Information collected through Ridgeline Workshop may be used to:
- Create and manage your account
- Provide the bike and component maintenance features of the app
- Maintain your bike service and component history
- Synchronise cycling information that you have authorised through Strava
- Calculate and maintain bike and component usage
- Maintain and improve the reliability, security and functionality of Ridgeline Workshop
- Provide customer support
- Manage subscriptions and access to paid features
- Comply with legal and regulatory obligations
We do not sell your personal information.
4. Firebase and Google services
Ridgeline Workshop uses Google Firebase and related Google Cloud services to provide parts of the application’s infrastructure.
These services may be used for functions including authentication, database storage, file storage, notifications and backend processing.
Information required to operate Ridgeline Workshop may therefore be processed and stored using Google infrastructure.
Google processes information according to its own applicable privacy and security policies.
5. Photographs and device access
Ridgeline Workshop may allow you to take a photograph or select an existing photograph from your device for use as a bike image.
The app will only request access to relevant device features where required to provide functionality that you choose to use.
Images that you choose to upload may be stored using Ridgeline Workshop’s cloud infrastructure so that they remain associated with your account and bikes.
6. Subscriptions and payments
Ridgeline Workshop may offer paid subscriptions or other paid features.
Payments made through the mobile application may be processed by the relevant app-store or payment provider. Ridgeline Workshop does not receive or store your complete payment-card details when payments are processed by those providers.
Payment providers may process information in accordance with their own privacy policies.
7. Sharing of information
We do not sell or rent your personal information.
Information may be processed by service providers where necessary to operate Ridgeline Workshop, such as hosting, authentication, cloud infrastructure, app distribution and payment services.
Information may also be disclosed where required by law, regulation, legal process or a valid request from an appropriate authority.
Strava data is not shared with third parties except where necessary to operate the authorised Strava integration, where required by law, or as otherwise permitted by applicable Strava requirements.
8. Data retention
We retain personal information for as long as reasonably necessary to provide Ridgeline Workshop and maintain your account, unless a longer retention period is required for legal, security or legitimate business purposes.
Strava data is subject to additional retention restrictions. Individual Strava activity records used by Ridgeline Workshop to process authorised cycling activity are retained only temporarily and are configured to expire from Ridgeline Workshop’s processing database.
Where Strava data is deleted, made unavailable by Strava, your Strava authorisation is revoked, your Ridgeline Workshop account is deleted, or Ridgeline Workshop otherwise becomes required to remove that data, we will delete applicable Strava data in accordance with Strava’s requirements and applicable law.
Some non-Strava information may remain temporarily in backups or system logs after deletion where necessary for security, recovery or technical operation.
9. Disconnecting Strava
You may disconnect your Strava account from Ridgeline Workshop at any time using the Disconnect Strava option within the app.
Disconnecting prevents Ridgeline Workshop from continuing to retrieve new information from your Strava account and revokes the application’s Strava connection.
Strava data retained by Ridgeline Workshop for the connection will be deleted in accordance with applicable Strava requirements.
You may also manage authorised applications through your Strava account.
10. Account and data deletion
You may request deletion of your Ridgeline Workshop account and associated personal information.
Where account deletion is available directly within the application, you may use that feature. You may also contact Ridgeline Workshop using the contact information below.
Following a valid deletion request, personal information associated with your account will be deleted or anonymised where appropriate, except where information must be retained to comply with legal obligations or legitimate security, fraud-prevention or record-keeping requirements.
Deleting your Ridgeline Workshop account will also remove applicable Strava data held by Ridgeline Workshop and terminate the associated Strava connection.
Information held independently by third-party services such as Strava or an app-store provider is governed by your relationship with that provider and may need to be managed separately.
11. Security
We use reasonable technical and organisational measures designed to protect information against unauthorised access, alteration, disclosure or loss.
Access to Strava data is restricted to the purposes necessary to provide the authorised Ridgeline Workshop functionality.
However, no internet-connected service or method of electronic storage can guarantee absolute security.
12. Children’s privacy
Ridgeline Workshop is intended for a general cycling audience and is not specifically designed for children.
We do not knowingly seek to collect personal information from children where parental consent would be legally required.
If we become aware that personal information has been collected in circumstances requiring parental consent without that consent, we will take appropriate steps to delete it.
13. Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights relating to your personal information, including rights to request access, correction or deletion of information and, in certain circumstances, to object to or restrict processing.
UK users may have rights under the UK General Data Protection Regulation (UK GDPR) and the Data Protection Act 2018.
You may also withdraw your consent to Ridgeline Workshop’s access to Strava by disconnecting your Strava account.
Requests concerning your personal information can be made using the contact details below.
14. International processing
Some service providers used by Ridgeline Workshop may process information outside your country of residence.
Where required, appropriate safeguards will be used for international transfers of personal information.
15. Changes to this Privacy Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy when Ridgeline Workshop changes, when services used by the app change, or where necessary to reflect legal, regulatory or third-party platform requirements.
The current version will be published on the Ridgeline Workshop website with its latest revision date.
